About your trip

Come on a ONCE. IN. A LIFETIME. trip to Guatemala! Come hike the volcanoes of Antigua, learn about Mayan culture and relax on Lake Atitlan,  visit a local coffee farm and have lunch at the farmer's house, and try foods you've never had before at the Guatemala City market.

This isn't a vegan trip that just feels like a "retreat" where we're not doing anything authentic to the location and just eating the same foods we eat at home. We'll be trying local foods authentic to Guatemala. It's a culture focused trip that just happens to be vegan.

I also only work with locally owned hotels and businesses to support the local community and create an authentic experience for the travelers.

Guatemala is truly one of my favorite countries I've ever been to and I can't wait to take you there!

Day 1 - Welcome! image

Welcome to Guatemala City!

We have airport pickup arranged for you from Guatemala City! We'll get you from the airport, bring you to our stunning hotel in Guatemala City and then we'll have a welcome dinner where we get to know each other!

Day 2

Day 2 image

Guatemala City Eats!

What better place to try local foods than the markets? We'll be going on a guided tour of Guatemala City, trying all the foods at the local markets, and stopping in some family owned shops to try foods local to Guatemala. Even checking out the oldest vegetarian restaurant in Guatemala City! After our bellies are full and our hearts are happy, we'll get on the bus and head to Lake Atitlan for our next destination!

Day 3

Day 3 image

Exploring Lake Atitlan!

This is maybbeeee my absolute favorite day of the trip! First, we'll head over to Amigos de Santa Cruz, a local trade school and learn about the work they do there. And surprise! They have a culinary school on the top floor with stunning views of the lake so we'll do lunch there. Then, we'll take a boat over to San Juan to learn about Mayan culture! We'll take a class on Mayan weaving techniques, a class on chocolate making (don't worry, it'll be vegan!) and a class on Mayan herbal medicine. Then, we'll do a quick snack at a "comedor" and head back to the hotel for relaxing time on the lake!

Day 4

Let's go to Antigua!

After a relaxing morning at the lake with a few activities planned, we'll hop back in on our bus and head over to Antigua, check into our stunning hotel, and we'll have a free night to hang out around the town.

Day 5

Day 5 image

Let's go to a coffee farm!

This is one of the most unforgettable days! In the morning, we'll do a history and food tour of Antigua filled with tons of pit stops at unique restaurants and cafes. Then, in the afternoon, we'll head to a coffee farm to see the coffee making process, go to the farmer's house to check out their process, and then we'll have lunch with him and his family at their home!

Day 6

Day 6 image

Let's hike a volcano! (don't worry, it's safe)

Today we're going to hike Pacaya! Pacaya is an active volcano right outside of Antigua but don't worry, it's very safe to hike! And it's not too challenging. It's about a 3 hour day hike. We'll hike up the volcano, have lunch at the top (courtesy of Montagu Antigua) and then hike back down. Then, we'll head back into Antigua for our farewell dinner!

Day 7

Day 7 image

Saying out goodbyes!

Sadly our trip comes to an end. We'll have breakfast at the hotel and then part ways. But don't worry, many people on my trips end up having such a good time that they end up cancelling their flight home and staying longer. And, friendships from my trips last a lifetime so it's never a goodbye, it's a see you SOON!
